How to use these worksheets at home

  • Mix conceptual and computational sheets each week. A pure-computation diet hides shaky understanding; a pure-concept diet leaves children slow in exams.
  • Print on A4 and insist on units in every answer (kg, cm², ₹) — Class 5 marks are routinely lost to missing units.
  • For percentages, teach the three conversions (fraction ↔ decimal ↔ %) first, then word problems. Doing word problems before the conversions are automatic is where most Class 5 children stall.
  • Re-print one HCF/LCM and one fractions sheet every two weeks for revision. These are the topics Class 6 builds on directly.

Class 5 Mathematics worksheet FAQs

What Maths topics are covered in Class 5?
Class 5 Maths covers large numbers (lakhs/crores), Roman numerals, multiplication and division of large numbers, HCF and LCM, fraction and decimal operations, percentages, unitary method, profit and loss, an introduction to simple interest, time, metric measurement, perimeter, area, volume of cubes/cuboids, averages, data handling and word problems.
Are these worksheets aligned to CBSE and NCERT?
Yes. The topics and difficulty mirror NCERT's Class 5 Maths textbook ('Math-Magic' / 'Maths Mela') and the CBSE Class 5 syllabus.
What's the easiest way to teach HCF and LCM in Class 5?
Start with prime factorisation — break each number into its prime factors first, then HCF (take the common ones) and LCM (take all of them) become a matter of circling, not memorising rules. Our HCF/LCM worksheets follow this order.
My child finds fraction multiplication confusing — what helps?
Show one rule and stop: 'multiply the tops, multiply the bottoms, then simplify.' Do five practice questions with the answer key open before attempting any unaided. Confidence comes from a clean rule, not from many rules.
Are these worksheets free to download as PDF?
Yes — every Class 5 Maths worksheet is free to download and print, no signup.
Do the worksheets come with answer keys?
Yes. Each workbook has a 'With answer key' print view.
