National Symbols of India Worksheets for Class 1 — Free Printable

India has a set of official national symbols that every child learns about in Class 1 General Knowledge and EVS — the Tiranga flag, the State Emblem (Ashoka Stambha), the National Anthem (Jana Gana Mana), the tiger (animal), the peacock (bird), the lotus (flower), the mango (fruit) and hockey (game). The rule, simply

  • Tiranga (flag): saffron on top, white in the middle with the navy-blue Ashoka Chakra (24 spokes), green at the bottom.
  • State Emblem: adapted from the Lion Capital of Sarnath; the motto is Satyameva Jayate (Truth alone triumphs).
  • National Anthem: Jana Gana Mana — written by Rabindranath Tagore.
  • National Song: Vande Mataram — written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
  • Animal: Tiger · Bird: Peacock · Flower: Lotus · Fruit: Mango · Tree: Banyan · Game: Hockey · River: Ganga.
