Fractions Worksheets for Class 3 — Free Printable PDF

A fraction shows a part of a whole. When we cut a chapati into 2 equal parts, each part is 1/2 (one-half). Class 3 fractions worksheets help children read, write and compare simple fractions like halves, thirds and quarters — and start adding fractions with the same denominator. All PDFs are CBSE/NCERT aligned with answer keys.

The rule, simply

  • The top number is the numerator — how many parts we have.
  • The bottom number is the denominator — how many equal parts the whole is cut into.
  • 1/2 = one-half, 1/3 = one-third, 1/4 = one-quarter.
  • To add fractions with the same denominator, add the numerators and keep the denominator: 1/4 + 2/4 = 3/4.
  • To compare fractions with the same denominator, the one with the bigger numerator is larger.
