Articles (A, An, The) Worksheets for Class 2 & 3 — Free Printable PDF

A, An and The are called articles. They come before nouns. A and An are indefinite articles (any one), while The is a definite article (a specific one). Class 2 and Class 3 worksheets help children choose the right article. All PDFs are CBSE/NCERT aligned with answer keys.

The rule, simply

  • Use A before words that begin with a consonant sound: a cat, a book, a university (yoo-sound).
  • Use An before words that begin with a vowel sound: an apple, an egg, an hour (silent h).

  • Use The with unique things: the sun, the moon, the sky.
